New Year's Time Out
What better season than New Year to pause, look back, look around, look to God and look ahead?
In a guided session of reflection, Willow Street Church member, Rev. Jim Haun, will be inviting us to consider God's hand in our lives.
It is not as intense as it may sound, and you will be surprised by the joy experienced and insights received.
This will all be done in a relaxed setting around tables in our chapel, and will start with a light brunch from 10:30 to 11:00.
There is no charge. A sign up is in the Gathering Place, or just show up!

Pastor's Advent Study
Pastor Zach will be leading an advent study on Mondays at 1PM November 25th - December 23rd. The study focuses on the experiences of four sets of often overlooked characters in the Nativity story. We’ll be reading An Unlikely Advent by Rachel Billups, exploring the themes of hope, love, joy, and peace by sharing the stories of Elizabeth and Zechariah, Herod, the Magi, and the shepherds. Each set of unexpected characters has something to teach about living faithfully on the journey to Christmas.
You can purchase your book online or we do have some copies available in the church office for $15.00/each. The book will support the Advent Sermon Series, so you may wish to purchase it and read it alone, even if you can’t attend the study time.
*If you’d like to participate in the study, but you can’t purchase the book due to financial constraints, just let Pastor Zach know, and we’ll be sure to get you a copy!
Sign up by calling Katie in the Church Office or by using the sign-up sheet in the gathering place.

First Responders' Sunday
Willow Street United Church of Christ extends a heartfelt invitation to all first responder agencies and organizations to join us for a special First Responders' Sunday on October 27, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.

Guest Speaker: Eleanor Isaacson
Eleanor Isaacson’s story seems impossible—but it’s true. Abandoned as a toddler in East Germany, American-born Eleanor Isaacson survived bombings, starvation, and the Russian occupation before entering her teens.
When she fled to America just as the Iron Curtain shut, however, Eleanor discovered that the “Land of the Free” held as much pain and rejection as the life she’d escaped. It took some time, but eventually Eleanor found the man of her dreams and the beauty of dance, and gradually became more and more aware of the “invisible friend” who had always loved her and held her tight.
Eleanor Isaacson will share her inspiring story at Willow Street Church on Saturday, October 19 at 10:00 AM. Her book, Dancing from Darkness, will be available at that time. A free-will offering will be taken and light refreshments will be served. This inspirational program is presented by the Willow Street Church Book Club.
